Our first maple syrup tapping was on February 3rd, 2012. This is the earliest tapping in the history of Jakeman's.
Fresh maple syrup should be on the shelves in about 2 weeks.
For the seventh year, Oxford County 4-H clubs are partnering with Jakeman's Maple Farm to provide a fun family experience. The 4H will serve pancake breakfasts with Jakeman's delicious maple syrup on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday only) in March as well as March 14th and April 1, 2012.
The menu includes pancakes, breakfast sausage, maple baked beans and beverages. The 4-H members and leaders will be organizing, making and serving the meals from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, on Saturdays and Sundays in March. 4-H is an organization that for over 90 years has been providing educational and social experiences for rural youth. All profits from the 4-H Pancake House go back to the 4-H clubs to provide extra funds for their many activities. Weather permitting, people will be able to walk through the Trillium Nature Preserve, or take a horse drawn wagon ride. The Jakeman family has been in the maple syrup business since 1876.
Why not come, enjoy a day in the country and smother maple syrup over pancakes made by the exciting young people of Oxford County 4-H.
